Inspiration is all around us - in the colours of the sunset marching across the sky, or in the softness of a birds wing. For me, this inspiration finds expression in Folk Art, Tole Painting or Decorative Painting - whatever you like to call it. The history behind my chosen art form is facinating. I paint the traditional Hindeloopen, Zhostovo, Khokhloma, Dalmalning, Bauernmalerei and Chinoiserie and take from each to create more modern subjects.
